CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After taking two-of-three from Fairfield over the weekend, the Charlotte 49ers baseball team will host Wake Forest on Wednesday night in the final non-conference tune-up before Conference USA play starts this weekend. Wednesday will mark the first night game of the season, with the recent time change, under the lights at Hayes Stadium.
Charlotte (8-8) got back to the .500 mark on Saturday after sweeping a Saturday doubleheader from the Stags that included a thrilling, 13-inning walk-off win for the 49ers. The hosts jumped on Fairfield early and often in game one Saturday scoring three in the second and two in the third cruising to a 6-2 victory.
