CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A strong start offensively followed by a finish just as equally strong allowed the Charlotte 49ers to pick up a 10-3 victory over Iona on Sunday afternoon. Three innings of crooked numbers enabled the Niners to sweep the Gaels inside Hayes Stadium.
"We took care of business," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We were a little sluggish there after the third inning, but we caught our second wind there in the eighth inning. I thought we got better at times in certain innings, but we need to play more consistent over nine innings.
