The 49ers (15-10) and the Wolfpack (14-12) got into an absolute slugfest Tuesday night at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown, as Charlotte scored 10 unanswered runs but it was not enough as they fell 15-10.
“We dug ourselves way too big of a hole,” head coach Loren Hibbs said. “You can’t play uphill against a good team like N.C. State. We made it way too easy for them and you can’t get down that far and expect to win. We competed and battled back, but dug ourselves a big hole.”
The Wolfpack got on board early as they scored one run off of Jacob Craver (0-1) in the first, who completed 2.
