ELON, N.C. – Charlotte Cross Country made the trip north to compete in the Elon Opener on Friday night, where it was a pair of underclassmen who led the way for the 49ers.
WOMEN'S RACE
Sophomore Tatum Dermatas led the pack for Charlotte in the Women's 4K with a time of 14:34.5 to put her in 14th place. Right behind her was fellow sophomore Lily Rogers (14:36.3) and senior Jessie Connick (14:38.1) who placed 15th and 17th, respectively.
"I went into the race feeling confident with the training I've been doing recently, and the people I've been running with," said Dermatas.
