The Charlotte 49ers (13-15, 7-10 C-USA) used a three-point shot at the buzzer from Jon Davis to propel themselves past the UTSA Roadrunners (12-18, 7-10) 76-75 Thursday night in San Antonio, Texas, having four players scoring in double digits.
With just four seconds to go the full length of the court, Davis received the inbound from Anthony Vanhook, sprinted up the middle of the court and knocked down the three-point shot in front of two UTSA defenders to give Charlotte the one-point victory on the road. Before that play, Davis had been going through a rough patch and actually sat on the bench for three minutes late in the half while he struggled at the free throw line (4-of-12), checking back in to the ball game with just eight seconds remaining.
