CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Chris Clemons made six 3-pointers and scored 26 points and Campbell won its fourth straight, beating Charlotte 76-70 on Wednesday night.
Campbell (5-2) never trailed and built a 13-point lead that Charlotte (1-8) cut to 37-34 by halftime. The Camels led by 10, 59-49, with 11:49 remaining.
Four times in the final 6:30 the 49ers came within one point, the final time on their final basket, a 3-pointer by Andrien White with 3:15 left. But Charlotte missed its last eight shots while Mason made two baskets and Shane Whitfield a free throw for Campbell.
