The Charlotte 49ers (12-16, 3-6 C-USA) dropped their third game in a row to Southern Miss (22-7, 8-1 C-USA) on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the Queen City, 16-6, giving up 17 hits in the loss and struggled to find arms to help them keep their early three-run lead over the Golden Eagles.
“We had a really good start to the day. We just weren’t able to stop Southern Miss on offense throughout the day or all weekend,” said Head Coach Loren Hibbs after the game. “We are going to have to make it more difficult for our opponents to score off of us.
