CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Behind seven home runs from four different players, the Charlotte 49ers (6-4) won both games of the doubleheader against Western Carolina (2-8) on Saturday afternoon at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium by scores of 15-4 and 4-3.
"Winning both games today gives us a lot of confidence going into day two of the tournament," head coach Ashley Chastain said. "Beating a team twice is tough, no matter who you play. I was really proud of the perseverance and resilience that we showed all day to get two done. Tomorrow we are going to wake up and treat it as a new day.
