Charlotte, N.C. - Imani Rochelle led the team with two RBIs and two runs scored, but the Charlotte 49ers softball team fell in a hard-fought, 11-inning game to the Virginia Cavaliers, 10-5, on Friday, Feb. 7 at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium.
"We did a lot of things well and had so many opportunities to win the game," head coach Ashley Chastain said. "We just didn't capitalize on those opportunities."
After Virginia scored three runs to start the game, Charlotte produced a three-run, fourth inning to tie the game at 3-all. The bottom of the fourth started with singles by Rochelle, Spenser Gray and Riley Krueger.
