For the first time since 2002, the Charlotte 49ers softball team (24-16) dominated all weekend and picked up a series sweep in conference play, winning all three games over the Marshall Thundering Herd (20-20).
Led by strong pitching from senior Lexi Betancourt and sophomore Haley Wiseman. Along with productive hitting throughout the lineup, the 49ers never trailed during the series and earned three vital conference wins.
The two Charlotte pitchers allowed only nine hits throughout the weekend to the Thundering Herd, a team that ranked second in Conference USA in hitting before facing the 49ers.
