CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers (27-12, 11-5 C-USA) are heading to South Bend, Ind., on May 1 for a doubleheader against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (26-12, 17-10 ACC) at Melissa Cook Stadium.
The Irish hold an all-time 3-0 record over the 49ers after getting wins in 1991, 2013 and 2017. So far this season, Notre Dame has victories over Duke, Villanova, Liberty, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, NC State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
This season marks the first time since 2012 that Charlotte has beat two schools from the ACC in Syracuse and North Carolina, since pulling out victories over NC State and Boston College nine years ago.
