Charlotte, N.C. - The First Pitch Classic Tournament kicked off with a bang as the Charlotte 49ers (2-6) run-ruled the North Carolina A&T Aggies (0-2), 10-0, at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium on Friday. In the following game against the Rhode Island Rams (2-3), the 49ers lost, 7-2, to split the day at 1-1.

A nine-run second inning helped Charlotte to its second victory and first shutout of the season thanks to nine walks and a grand slam by sophomore Bailey Vannoy in the frame.
Senior pitcher Alison Green started the game with back-to-back 1-2-3 innings.
