Birmingham, Ala. – The Charlotte 49ers (13-18, C-USA: 9-9), who are seeded seventh, will play tenth-seed Rice (12-19, C-USA: 7-11) in the second round of the Conference USA Tournament, Wednesday, March 9 at 7 pm eastern. The Conference USA Tournament will be played at the Legacy Arena at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama.
The game will be broadcast nationally by the American Sports Network.
This is the second consecutive season that the Conference USA Tournament is played at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The 49ers are no stranger to success at the Legacy Arena since the 49ers defeated Houston, Southern Miss, Cincinnati and Louisville to capture the 1999 Conference USA Tournament at the Arena.
