CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Men's Tennis held an early lead before a back-and-forth battle went to No. 70 Florida Atlantic. The latter took back-to-back singles at No. 6 and eventually No. 5 due to medical retirement to clinch a comeback road win.
Tiebreak doubles chances didn't go Charlotte's way in Friday's loss to No. 24 South Florida, but the trend flipped against the Owls.
Brett Gloria leaped for a return that sailed over Florida Atlantic to put the 49ers ahead 6-4 in the tiebreak set before Ivan Dreycopp tapped a return down the net, away from John Bernard and Lucca Pignaton for a clinching seventh tally.
