Charlotte split its six singles matches, but the 49ers (6-7) dropped a seesaw men's tennis battle to Georgia State, 4-3, Sunday afternoon at the 49ers' Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
Georgia State (5-8) took the upperhand by winning the doubles point and though Charlotte would pull even twice during singles play, the 49ers were not able to claim control.
SINGLES SPLIT
Trailing 1-0 after dropping the doubles point, Charlotte evened the match, 1-1, with 6-2, 6-2 victory over Roberts Grinvalds at second singles. The Panthers regained the lead, 2-1, with a 7-5, 6-2 victory by Quentin Couland over at #1 singles.
