Charlotte falls to USC Upstate In Overtime

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Despite a season-high 30 points from senior guard Braxton Ogbueze, the Charlotte 49ers (3-1) dropped a 108-103 decision in overtime to USC Upstate (3-2) at Halton Arena on Tuesday night.

"First of all, congratulations to USC Upstate," Charlotte coach Mark Price said. "I've known Eddie Payne for a long time. He's a good coach and their guys deserved to win tonight; they outplayed us. Obviously, this was a disappointing loss for us. We came in with some momentum and actually started off the game pretty well but everything you worry about sometimes in a game, some things we knew might cause us problems like the big guy inside was just too big for us to handle and he made shots tonight and then their guards got going towards the end of the game hitting threes.
