The Charlotte 49ers (18-25, 7-11 C-USA) displayed their true offensive potential in Tuesday night’s non-conference battle against the Citadel Bulldogs (, scoring a season-high 15 runs on a season-high 20 hits, leading to a 15-4 victory.
Reece Hampton led off for Charlotte in the bottom of the first by reaching base on a walk, stealing second on the next pitch. Brett Netzer walked on five pitches, bringing up Logan Sherer with runners at first and second.
Sherer roped a double down the left field line, scoring Hampton and advancing Netzer to third. T.J. Nichting walked, putting two runners on base for Drew Ober, who singled into right field to bring in Netzer for the second run of the game for the 49ers.
