JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Charlotte women's tennis defeated the highest-ranked opponent in program history Saturday morning, holding off any challenge from No. 49 Appalachian State to hand the Mountaineers a 4-2 neutral-site loss in Johnson City, Tennessee.

"It's fantastic to get a win over a Top-50 ranked opponent," head coach Anthony Davison said. "We had a heartbreaking loss yesterday, and to bounce back in style, shows how physically and mentally tough this team is.
