DUBLIN, Ohio – Charlotte Men's Golf began play in the Barbara Nicklaus Cup at the Muirfield Village Golf Club on Monday morning with a convincing 5-1 match play win over Clemson, followed by 5.5-0.5 victory against Ohio State. Muirfield is a Par 72 at 7,569 yards. Charlotte will face Florida on Tuesday to conclude the tournament.
"Head-to-head match play is a fun yet unique format in college golf," said head coach Ryan Cabbage. "However, I've always enjoyed match play at the college level, and I know our guys do as well. Muirfield Village obviously speaks for itself as one of the best golf courses in America and in the world that has hosted numerous prestigious professional, and amateur events so it'll be a real treat for these guys to be able to play it.
