ROCK HILL, S.C. — A pair of three-set rallies in singles play provided Charlotte with enough points to garner its first win over Winthrop since 2006 and the 49ers won their fifth-in-a-row Thursday afternoon, 4-3, at the Rock Hill Tennis Center.
Senior mounted a big comeback against her opponent to put the Niners within a point of clinching the team triumph. She overcame a first-set setback to defeat the Eagles' Rafaela Santos in the No. 4 clash 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 to set the stage for junior comeback on an adjacent court.
With two matches left to finish, Imparato locked up another three-set decision for her team.
