CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte mounted a late rally on Sunday afternoon but couldn't push across the necessary runs falling to Kent State 5-3 inside Hayes Stadium. The 49ers won the weekend series by sweeping both games of Saturday's doubleheader.
"Kent State does a lot of things to put pressure on you and we didn't respnd the way we needed to early in the game," started Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We still have things we're working through. We haven't played a team below average yet. Every team we have played has been good. We're going to continue to work, make progress and give ourselves the best chance to win.
