The Charlotte 49ers had a league-high four football players named to the 2018 Conference USA all-Freshman team. Charlotte landed two receivers: Victor Tucker and Rico Arnold, linebacker Henry Segura and kicker Jonathan Cruz on the all-freshman team.
Tucker, a red-shirt freshman, ranked eighth in the league in receiving yards and led C-USA freshmen in receptions (4.9/gm) and receiving yards (68.5/gm). Among FBS freshmen, he ranked second in receptions and third in receiving yards. Tucker set a 49ers' freshman record with three 100-yard receiving performances. His 130-yard performance at UMass is also the best by a 49ers' freshman.
