COLUMBIA, S.C. – The frustrations for Charlotte baseball continued on Tuesday night in a 5-4 loss to South Carolina. The 49ers had a 3-1 lead midway through and had the tying run in scoring position during the ninth, but still dropped the one-run decision.
"Tonight was honestly frustrating," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "To get the ninth inning and have a chance is frustrating. We've got to do a better job of building more length to our lineup and pitching staff. We're still walking too many people. It's frustrating."
South Carolina (20-13) used a leadoff walk and two-out RBI single to grab an early 1-0 in the second.
