Charlotte, N.C. – Behind three Brandt Bronico goals and a stellar defensive effort, the ninth-ranked Charlotte 49ers (9-2-1, C-USA: 4-1-0) routed Conference USA foe UAB (6-6-3, C-USA: 2-3-1), 5-0, at Transamerica Field on a brisk Saturday night.
"It was a total complete performance from us," head coach Kevin Langan said. "We looked solid, strong and together from the goalkeeper forward. We scored some good goals and had some great moments. We looked busy and sharp in front of goal which was what the challenge was for the guys."
Bronico put Charlotte on the front foot early after the team earned a free kick roughly 20 yards out from goal.
