CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A brace from senior midfielder and a stellar second half display from the back line propelled the No. 18 Charlotte men's soccer team past Georgia Southern, 3-1, on Sunday night at Transamerica Field.
The win pushes the Niners (1-1-0) to 8-2-0 in home openers under head coach , while the Eagles were sent home with a 1-1-0 ledger.
Georgia Southern threw the nights opening punch when Jacob Green-Pedersen sent a corner kick service into the far post netting to give GSU the almost immediate 1-0 lead.
From there, Charlotte responded with haymaker after haymaker in the final third.
