Baseball Wins Opener 6-3 over West Virginia

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte 49ers baseball team opened up the 2017 season with a 6-3 victory over West Virginia in front of a Hayes Stadium sell out of 1,135 on Friday afternoon. T.J. Nichting and Jackson Mims each collected three hits in the victory as Charlotte won their second-straight season opener.

"First off, thanks to Niner Nation for getting out on a Friday afternoon for a sellout," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "It was a high level of play for the first game of the season which bodes well for both programs.
