Baseball Walks Off on Marshall; Finish 22-9 at Home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Reece Hampton delivered a walk-off double in the bottom of the 11th allowing Charlotte to finish off a weekend sweep over Marshall with a 5-4 victory on Sunday afternoon. The win closes out the 31 home games at Hayes Stadium as the Niners finish the year 22-9 in the home park.

In the 11th, Zack Smith drew a one-out walk before moving to second on a Hunter Jones sacrifice bunt. With Tate Pennington coming in to run for Smith at second, Hampton drilled a 1-1 pitch into the gap in right-center easily scoring Pennington with the game winner.
