CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte 49ers will open up a four-game homestand this week by hosting North Carolina at BB&T Ballpark on Tuesday night. In addition to the first meeting Uptown with the Tar Heels, the Niners will use the new light rail system for transportation to the game.
Charlotte (14-9) heads into their final game of the year at BB&T Ballpark winning six of their last eight including last weekend's series win at Middle Tennessee. The 49ers rode the combined shutout performance of Josh Maciejewski and Jonah Patten in a 4-0 shutout victory Friday, before Joey Cooner tossed Charlotte to a series-win allowing two hits in his seven-plus inning during the 7-5 Sunday win.
