MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Starter Joey Cooner took a no-hitter into the sixth inning while the offense provided seven runs of support as Charlotte scored a 7-5 victory over Middle Tennessee winning the weekend series on Sunday afternoon. Cooner worked 7.2 innings on Sunday allowing just three runs on two hits with a career high nine strikeouts.
"Today was a good team win having a lot of guys contribute," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "Cooner was good and had the changeup going real well. It was a really good outing for him. Anytime you come up here and win two games it's a good weekend.
