CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Backed by a six-run bottom of the fifth, the Charlotte 49ers baseball team notched an 8-6 victory over FIU in Conference USA action on Sunday afternoon. The Niners take a series-win and postseason tiebreaker, if needed, over the Panthers later in the year.
"I'm proud of our guys for bouncing back from yesterday," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "It was a good weekend. It was a good week overall."
Charlotte (11-8, 2-1 C-USA) struck in the opening inning as Tommy Bullock drew a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on a Jackson Mims single back up the middle.
