CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte 49ers began the 2019 baseball campaign with a pair of victories over Delaware scoring a 5-2 game one win followed by a 3-1 decision in the nightcap. Matt Brooks pitched into the seventh inning of game one to help guide the Niners while Rafi Vazquez picked up a couple of game two hits including the first home run of the year. After all was said and done, head coach Loren Hibbs notched his 800th career victory, all compiled as he starts his 27th season at Charlotte.
