CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Behind a five-run fourth inning, an eleven hits offensive performance, and solid pitching, the Charlotte 49ers (15-9, C-USA: 4-1) defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls (15-10, C-USA: 4-1), 9-5, in their Conference USA home opener.
COACH WOODARD ON THE WIN
"I am proud of our guys and the way they came out today, start to finish," Charlotte coach Robert Woodard said. "There aren't many teams that have come in here and thrown a punch as they did in the first inning against Bryce (McGowan). He has been pretty tough all season; we know they are a really good team, and I am proud of us taking that punch in the first and coming back.
