COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Charlotte 49ers made things uncomfortable for #4 South Carolina on Tuesday having the tying run 90 feet away and go-ahead run on first in the ninth, but the nationally ranked Gamecocks survived for a 5-4 victory at Founders Park. The Niners rallied in the ninth despite South Carolina tossing their two top closers from a year ago for the final 2.2 innings.
"We did a lot of good things over the course of the game," stated Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "When you play the caliber of this team on the road, with the kind of arms they run out there, the margin of error is pretty thin.
