CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball grabbed momentum in the fourth inning on Saturday afternoon and never looked back scoring a decisive 13-2 victory over West Virginia in front of a standing room only crowd of 1,584 at Hayes Stadium. The Niners used a pair of plays at the plate defensively and followed that up with three home runs to earn a series victory over the Mountaineers.
Tied in a 1-1 game through two, the momentum started to swing back towards the 49ers as a Darius Hill delivered a game-tying RBI double in the top of the third after a Zach Jarrett sacrifice fly in the home half of the second.
