CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte 49ers baseball team will begin the 2017 season on Friday afternoon hosting West Virginia for the first of a three-game series inside Hayes Stadium. Head Coach Loren Hibbs, who begins his 25th season at the helm of the Niners, put together the toughest schedule in program history that begins with the Mountaineers, a preseason pick to play in the NCAA Regionals come June.
"We've had good practices," began Hibbs. "We've played three weekends of intrasquad scrimmages and have gotten a lot of good work in, but we're all ready to play somebody different.
