CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball had just one tough inning on defense Thursday night as it led to a four-run inning fourth inning and a 4-3 victory by UTSA.
"I thought we played good defense and pitched well except for that one inning," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We have to stay away from those big innings and then we have to put the ball in play. We struck out way too many times and made it too easy for UTSA."
Charlotte (20-30-1, 10-17-1 C-USA) started strong with a run in the second as back-to-back singles by Drew Ober and Josh Haney, along with an outfield error by UTSA, led to the first run of the night.
