CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte 49ers baseball team has been picked to finish 10th in the annual Conference USA coaches poll as selected by the league’s 12 head coaches on Wednesday. The 49ers will use the poll results as extra motivation heading into the 2016 season which officially begins on Friday with the team’s first official practice.
Charlotte finished 2015 in the same spot they are predicted to finish in the new year missing out on the C-USA tournament by just two games. The 49ers will look to improve on their team statistics from a year ago losing just one starter while adding 10 newcomers, that includes five transfers, while pitchers Philip Perry and Brandon Casas become eligible after sitting out last season.
