CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball scored a season-high 11 runs to close out a four-game sweep of UMBC with an 11-6 victory on Sunday afternoon. The 49ers improve to 5-3 after a 12-hit day, now winners of four-straight, while the Retrievers begin the year 0-4.
"To be able to pick up another win today was big for our guys," started Head Coach Robert Woodard. "To play 36 innings in four days and have that level of focus is hard to do. I thought our hitters did a fantastic job of staying in the strike zone and trying to do damage.
