CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida Atlantic tallied four in the second and two more in the sixth before holding on late to score an 8-4 victory over Charlotte on Friday night. The 49ers, who out-hit FAU 15-14, went on to out-score the Owls 4-2 over the final six innings, but couldn't overcome the first three frames.
FAU (21-9, 9-1 C-USA) put together six singles in the second to score four runs beginning with four-straight hits to open the frame. Jacob Josey was the only Owl in the inning to pick up a RBI without the benefit of a hit scoring the third run on a groundout to third.
