CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte cranked out a dozen hits on Sunday afternoon but couldn't string them together early during a 6-3 loss to West Virginia in the opening weekend finale at Hayes Stadium. The 49ers hit .336 on the weekend to win the series. Another standing room only crowd of 1,458 attended Sunday's game to push the weekend total to over 4,100 fans for the first three games.
"We lost to a good team today," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "There's no easy games with the caliber of schedule we're playing. They ran out a really good arm in Conner Dotson and we just weren't as good on the back end with our bullpen as we were the first couple of days.
