CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball got off to a fast start by putting up four in the first and two in the second en route to a 7-4 series-opening victory over Western Carolina on Friday afternoon. With Friday's win, the 49ers are now just one win away from the 1,200th in program history.

Charlotte (7-1) immediately put up a four-spot in the bottom of the first hitting a pair of homers and taking advantage of two Western Carolina (5-4) errors. David McCabe started the action with a solo blast to right for his fifth of the year.
