CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte women's basketball placed four players in double figures for the third-straight game, dating back to last season, but visiting Clemson pulled away late to pick up the 80-73 victory Monday afternoon in the 49ers' home opener inside Halton Arena. The game was close throughout with the score knotted at halftime and still a one-possession contest with under 30 seconds to play.

Senior Octavia Jett-Wilson made the most of her 36 minutes, finishing as Charlotte's leading scorer with 17 points on 7-of-15 field goals and 3-of-4 at the foul line.
