Bad Bounce Helps #12 FAU Even Up Weekend Series in Florida

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Host Florida Atlantic took advantage of a bad bounce in the fifth inning that turned the momentum on Saturday afternoon sparking their offense to a 17-8 win evening up the Conference USA weekend series.

For the second-straight game, the Niners got on the board in the opening frame as a leadoff triple down the right field line by Reece Hampton paid off on Logan Sherer’s sacrifice fly to left. Charlotte kept that one-run advantage until the Owls got on the board in the fourth.

Florida Atlantic (23-5, 9-2 C-USA) used a gusting wind blowing out to right to get on the board with Sean Labsan’s two-out, two-run home run.
