Charlotte 49ers junior track star Caroline Sang (Eldoret Town, Kenya) placed 8th of 24 runners with a time of 33:09.67 in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. The women's 10K was run Thursday evening and was aired by ESPN2 ending at approximately 11 pm, ET.
Sang, who qualified for the championships in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters, earns all-America honors with her 10K finish.
The women's 5,000 meter final will be run Saturday, June 10 at 8:25 pm ET.
Sang qualified for the NCAA Championships with standout performances at the NCAA East Regional Preliminaries held at Kentucky's Outdoor Track and Field Complex, May 25-27.
