What a finish!
Graduate student Terrell Adams, the 49ers highly-decorated discus thrower, needed a big throw. After the opening two rounds at the NCAA Div. I Track and Field Championships, Adams was outside the top 15 with just one throw left.
Charlotte's school record-holder delivered.
His third toss traveled 56.54m (185' 6) to catapult him into eighth place in the standings and into the final round.
In the final round, Adams bumped his distance up to 56.85 (186' 6) to lock him into eight-place and earn him First Team all-America honors.
Adams, a three-time Conference USA champion in the discus, produced the 49ers top finish at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
