CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte softball (24-17, 5-7 C-USA) continues its homestand, welcoming reigning Conference USA regular season and tournament champions Western Kentucky (15-19, 6-6 C-USA) to Phillips Softball Complex for a three-game series.
The Niners dropped an extra-inning heartbreaker to in-state foe North Carolina on Wednesday, where Charlotte rallied back to tie the game three seperate times before falling 8-5 in eight innings.
The squad picked up its first C-USA series win of the year last weekend, after sweeping East Division rival Marshall, who entered the weekend as the second-best offensive team in the league.
