CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After the Charlotte 49ers (27-13) broke the team single-season doubles record on Wednesday against UNCG, they are headed to South Bend, Ind., on Saturday, May 1 for a road doubleheader versus the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (26-12), who are receiving votes in the recent national polls.
BREAKING RECORDS
The 49ers just eclipsed the team doubles record set back in 2008 of 79 after Imani Rochelle and Bailey Vannoy hit doubles in Charlotte's game against UNCG, bringing the team total to 80. Vannoy now has 20 doubles on the season, which leads the nation and is one away from tying the school's single-season record of 21 set by Yolanda Stevens in 1996.
