Charlotte, N.C. – Behind singles wins at number one, two and three and the doubles point, the Charlotte 49ers (7-7) defeated 23rd-ranked Penn (11-4), 4-3, for their fourth straight win. This marked the highest ranked team that the 49ers have defeated since a victory over 14th-ranked South Carolina, February 19, 2000.
Doubles – Charlotte won at number two and three doubles to capture the doubles point. At number two doubles, Charlotte's and , the reigning Conference USA Player of the Week, cruised to a 6-0 win over Penn's Kevin Zhu and Edoardo Graziani. At number three doubles, Charlotte's and defeated Penn's Jason Hildebrandt and Max Cancilla, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point.
