Jeff Gemmell hasn't exactly taken the fast lane to success. His has been a deliberate step-by-step steady progression. After redshirting his first year on campus and playing behind seniors in year two, the productive linebacker began to flourish in the spotlight as a red-shirt sophomore in his third year. His accomplishments on the field and his attitude in the locker room served enough notice that his teammates voted him as one of this season's four team captains. But let's not get too ahead of ourselves.
