CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Over the past two weeks, two players from each the men and women's golf teams at Charlotte represented the 49ers at each respective U.S. Amateur tournament. The best golfers from around the world competed in each tournament on the men's and women's side with the four dawning the green and gold showing the world how stacked of a golf program we have at Charlotte.
WOMEN'S FIELD
Cecilie Finne-Ipsen and Siarra Stout played in the women's U.S. Amateur August 3-9 in Rockville, Maryland with Finne-Ipsen qualifying for match play. A total of 132 golfers battled through two days of stroke play over three days, with a tropical storm dumping on Woodmont Country Club in between, with only 64 making match play.
